The Digital Archiving Consultancy

Digital preservation, archiving and curation

Digital Archiving Consultancy

The Digital Archiving Consultancy (DAC) provides independent expert advice and consultancy services on data preservation, archiving and curation. Established in March 2002 by Philip Lord and Alison Macdonald, it is already a leading provider world-wide of high quality advice on this new and complex area over a broad range of application areas.

The consultancy and its business partners and associates have between them an unparalleled breath of understanding of this multi-faceted topic gained in government, commercial, academic environments. Our associates have expertise which ranges over regulation, law, finance, technology, training and process change management. This breadth of experience means we can advise at all levels, from the determination of strategy to the solution of specific problems.

The DAC brings unique skills to the specific challenge of archiving scientific, technical and medical data, including the demanding problems facing the pharmaceuticals sector as it struggles to meet new regulatory demands in this area, such as those imposed by the USA’s FDA under the 21CFR Part 11 regulation.

We provide customized training courses and seminars on all aspects of electronic archiving, curation and preservation.

Our clients include a range of commercial and government-funded organisations, including those who are active in setting de facto and de jure standards for archiving and preservation.
